Reflections on Teaching MIS at Kings College: A Journey with an Incredible Class
Teaching the Management of Information Systems (MIS) course has been an unforgettable journey, and I couldn't have asked for a better group of students. Waking up before sunrise and making it to class before 6:45 AM may sound like a challenge, but seeing my students engaged, curious, and ready for discussions made it all worth it. Their energy and enthusiasm turned every session into an exciting exploration of technology, business, and real-world applications.
The Power of Early Mornings and Meaningful Conversations
One of the most rewarding aspects of this course was the way my students embraced early morning learning. Their feedback about how these pre-class discussions enriched their understanding was truly motivating. Who knew that MIS concepts could be best understood when you discuss them before the world wakes up?
Blending Technology, Business, and Real Life
MIS is not just about learning theories; it’s about seeing how technology and business intertwine in our everyday lives. Despite some students not having a strong tech background, they adapted incredibly well, connecting concepts with real-world scenarios. The ability to merge technology with business strategy is a crucial skill, and watching my students master it was inspiring.

Interactive Learning & Real Projects
Engaging students in activities was a game-changer! From role-playing business scenarios to working on real projects, these activities provided hands-on experience and deeper learning. Below are some glimpses of their incredible work:

AI vs. Creativity: The Class Debate
Now, let’s talk about a hot topic—AI in assignments. Yes, some students tried using AI during activities, but instead of banning it outright, we had a productive discussion. In the end, we reached an agreement: AI can be a tool, but creativity should remain the driving force. The fact that students themselves took this stance speaks volumes about their growth and mindset.
Final Thoughts: My Students Were AWESOME!
This MIS course wasn’t just about me teaching—it was about all of us learning together. From thought-provoking discussions to laughter-filled activities, this batch made every class memorable. Watching them evolve, tackle challenges, and embrace innovation was the highlight of my teaching experience.
To my amazing students: Keep questioning, keep learning, and keep pushing boundaries. And hey—I’d love to see where your journeys take you!
