What My 1-Year-Old Son Taught Me About Resilience
The other day, I watched my 1-year-old son take a few wobbly steps before tumbling to the ground. He paused, looked up, and—without hesitation—pushed himself back up to try again. No tears, no frustration, just a smile and pure determination. In that moment, I realized he was teaching me one of the most important lessons of my life: resilience.
It’s amazing how much we can learn from children. They don’t dwell on failure or overthink their mistakes. Instead, they focus on what’s next, confident that they’ll get it right eventually. As adults, we often lose this innate ability to bounce back. We fear failure, analyze our missteps endlessly, and sometimes stop trying altogether. Watching my son fall and rise again reminded me how much simpler life can be when we embrace resilience.
